These are the only wips I have of her, she's made of Apoxie Sculpt, I'm still not too sure of that medium. I like/need a lot of time when to do "do overs" and this stuff doesn't really give me that. Linda " The Gourd Queen" uses it all the time and I really don't know how she does it, so I figured I'd start small. I did use it another time for these two below and again the time constraints always throw me off!!

Don't forget to mark your calendar for the SpookyTimeJingles update coming up on the 13th!!

Flora, she is divine!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom doesn't care for the Apoxie either for the same reasons.
I love all the imperfections I can get with this clay as I love the primitive look. I guess that's why it works for me. I love it!
You are doing a great job with it.
Oh my god I am In absolute LOVE with that lil vamp!!!!!! All your new ones are awesome Flora.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love apoxie sculpt, I'm an addict!! Once you get a feel for its properties and what you can do during the stages of the curing process, I'm sure you will be too. I'm going to email you some tips that might help make it more enjoyable to work with k? :)
Hope your feeling great sweetie. Happy friday and have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Sprite

ReplyDeleteblessings,
Flora
Wow Flora your vampire looks good!
ReplyDeleteI think Apoxy is hard to work with. One trick I found was to not get it too wet. I have a friend that uses apoxy for all her sculpting ~ I'm amazed!
Pattee
Hello my sweet friend!!! I'm glad you like her!!! I'm liking how she is turning out, even though she is a bit of a stinker!!
ReplyDeleteblessings and Thank you!!

ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the compliments on my work, * blushing now ;)*
I will come and visite your blog often, I'm a follower ;))
I love these new pieces, Flora. As always, spooky sweetness! xox Pam
ReplyDeleteFlora, your little vampire is perfection as always!
ReplyDeleteI use apoxy sculpt and apoxy clay. They just require a completely different thought process to how you work since they set up. Different stages of hardness let you do different things. It's all fun. :o)
Hello Ladies!!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your lovely comments!!! I guess I'm going to have to read up on working with the apoxy stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteblessings,
Flora
Flora, Isn't it amazing how we all like one kind of sculpting medium over others? I have never used epoxy sculpt, but think I wouldn't like it much because, as you said, the working time is so limited. I am currently in love with paperclay, even over polymer clay because I hate the fragile breakage of polymer on fingers, etc. For something you struggled with, the baby vamp is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteDiane
Love the way your little guy is turning out. I tried some new clay too...it's ok, but still like the paper clay. Go to my blog, I gave you an award, so go claim it.
ReplyDeletelove,
G
Diane and Georgina!!! Hello how are you two fine ladies doing this afternoon, I'm glad y'all took the time to come over to visit for a while and Thanks so much for the kind comments!!! Dianne, I have never tried polymer , I'm always afraid I'll burn it or under cook it and the dangerous fumes scare me even more!!
ReplyDeleteGeorgina, I am adding your name to the award, Thank you!! That new grandie of yours is SOOOO precious!!!Give him a great big kiss for me!!
blessings,Flora
I am under her spell. Powerful little thing isn't she? LOL
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of that clay. I don't know how you do what you do but the clay doesn't make a difference to the beauty you create.
Best of luck with it.
Hugs,pea
An adorable baby vamp! first class work!! I'm already in love!
ReplyDeleteFlora I left a Kreativ Blogger award on my blog for you~ as you deserve it!
ReplyDeletePattee
I love the Vampire Baby, but I shudder to think of what nursing would involve! If you can get used to EPOXY clays, they can't be beat for durability.
ReplyDeleteHello and thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit and for the wonderful positive comments about my new dollie, I do appreciate each and everyone of y'all!!Pattee, you are too kind, Thank you for the award, I added your name to it!!
ReplyDeleteblessings,Flora
what delightful little parts!!! Wonderful to see the work in progress.
ReplyDelete~Emily
hurry, hurry! Just kidding Flora! He's too cute. I can't wait to see him finished!
ReplyDeleteTracy
Hi Flora. You're just being hard on yourself and too critical my dear! She's adorable. I find when you use another medium, it just takes some getting used to. Do what's comfortable, cause all your work is great regardless of the type of medium you use!! Take care, Jeannine
ReplyDeleteEmily Tracy & Jeannine, Thanks for stopping in and leaving me such lovely comments!!! I've finished her and still need to get some pic's.
ReplyDeleteblessings,flora
Another adorable creation in the works, Flora!
ReplyDeleteI too, find the time constraints too limiting and use it only for thin delicate parts that need strength or underneath paperclay for the added strength.
I've also used the Apoxie Clay and find that work time is even shorter than the Apoxie Sculpt.
Josie
Hey Josie!!1,
ReplyDeleteGlad you stopped by!!! I'm gonna have to try and learn how to work with this stuff because of it's strength!!!Wish me luck!!!
