Grandpa and Kinsley
Grandpa with Tristan and Avery
I hope all had a very " Merry little Christmas ",we did and a new tradition was started by my oldest, we celebrated part of our Christmas day with her family, at her home as opposed to just staying at our home with them coming over.
As is with many extended families, our sweet grandie Kinsley has 3 sets of doting grandparents ( actually it's 4 sets but that's another story... ), we all have to learn to bend or run the risk of breaking...we chose to bend.
Different isn't always bad... just different and that was what it felt like, somehow not quite right but not bad. I knew change was coming and I didn't want it to, you know how sometimes we don't like to change the "status quo" but in doing so, I felt like I "grew up" a little bit...I still feel a little melancholy, especially at this time of year, when things are already stressed and you crave just a bit of familiarity / sanity,( that's why the holidays are not my favorite time of year ) I guess I'm a creature of habit in certain things?
But different can be good...if you let it be...

Finally...
My Christmas Crow...
Let me introduce you to " Chris ", the Christmas Crow, who was busy doing some last minute shopping for the Mrs., when the snow began to fall," I think I'll take the long way home he thought to himself, I love Christmas,it's such a magical season! " he said with a smile and spring in his step...and he began to make his way thru the soft shimmering ground."
This dandy fellow wanted to say hello before he was on his merry way, I made him for another Christmas swap and am quite pleased with how he came out! He is made of muslin, his beak is clay over cloth and his legs are tape covered wires. He is a mixed media art doll, made from my own original design. I've used czech glass beads for his eyes and large seed beads as buttons at his vest, on his jacket back tab, for his shoulder joints and on his spatz.Embellished with mica snow, red berries, decorative buttons and fabric ribbons, he carries a handmade gift bag and tag, with tissues, bakers twine make the handles.Top hat and clothes were also handmade by me, I make my own patterns for my dolls
Enjoy!
