Grandpa and Kinsley
Grandpa with Tristan and Avery
I hope all had a very " Merry little Christmas ",we did and a new tradition was started by my oldest, we celebrated part of our Christmas day with her family, at her home as opposed to just staying at our home with them coming over.
As is with many extended families, our sweet grandie Kinsley has 3 sets of doting grandparents ( actually it's 4 sets but that's another story... ), we all have to learn to bend or run the risk of breaking...we chose to bend.
Different isn't always bad... just different and that was what it felt like, somehow not quite right but not bad. I knew change was coming and I didn't want it to, you know how sometimes we don't like to change the "status quo" but in doing so, I felt like I "grew up" a little bit...I still feel a little melancholy, especially at this time of year, when things are already stressed and you crave just a bit of familiarity / sanity,( that's why the holidays are not my favorite time of year ) I guess I'm a creature of habit in certain things?
But different can be good...if you let it be...

My Christmas Crow...
Let me introduce you to " Chris ", the Christmas Crow, who was busy doing some last minute shopping for the Mrs., when the snow began to fall," I think I'll take the long way home he thought to himself, I love Christmas,it's such a magical season! " he said with a smile and spring in his step...and he began to make his way thru the soft shimmering ground."
This dandy fellow wanted to say hello before he was on his merry way, I made him for another Christmas swap and am quite pleased with how he came out! He is made of muslin, his beak is clay over cloth and his legs are tape covered wires. He is a mixed media art doll, made from my own original design. I've used czech glass beads for his eyes and large seed beads as buttons at his vest, on his jacket back tab, for his shoulder joints and on his spatz.Embellished with mica snow, red berries, decorative buttons and fabric ribbons, he carries a handmade gift bag and tag, with tissues, bakers twine make the handles.Top hat and clothes were also handmade by me, I make my own patterns for my dolls

More Snow Please
Twinkle looked to the sky and said
“ More snow please “
Sky nodded and shook, then down
came the snow.
Swirling and twirling and landing
Quietly falling with beauty and ease,
As it covered the ground and
the tops of the trees.
Sky smiles, Twinkle grins, quite
happy by all that he see’s.

Just one more to squeeze in! This is my last one for the November offering on SpookyTimeJingles Twinkles is an unopened smooth mixed -media ornamental gourd. There's a little more to read at the site if you are interested... So go already..lol.
I'm gonna have to maybe not make a poem for all these little guys anymore! It's just one more thing that I don't think I want to worry and fuss over anymore. Sometimes they just pop out and other times it's just a long drawn out process, those are the ones that are a bother..obviously! Goodnight.
Can make all the difference in the world...that and a ton of scrapbooking papers!
I wasn't too pleased with the way the last pic's I took of my bobble-head frost fairy had come out, so I gave it one more try and I think the lighter background helped her tremendously! So what do ya think?...well I like it..lol!
She is also up for the SpookyTimeJingles Nov. offering...Just can't wait to see ya there, so hurry up and don't be late!!!

From my window, I can see,
Moonbeams playing in a tree.
From my window, I can see,
Starlight dancing merrily!
From my window I can see,
The silver moon sweetly
Smiling…down at me.

Are often hard to make because they strain these old eyes, but are so cute once done:
Some don't often come out like I plan but I do try:
These are mostly made of "Apoxie Sculpt" over a wire armature.

This is too too funny ...I have been getting all these hits from many countries on my blogging about hurricane Ike? The only thing is that I used " One wild and crazy night" which I thought was a witty title, so I googled it to see what the fuss was all about and......OMG!!!!!!!are you getting the picture? Yes,... it's a porn title for pervs!!!!!! I really do have to be a little more careful and original for my choice of titles anymore!!! hahahah!!!

FrostFairy # 2, I'm not sure about her coloring, I used a darker green than I wanted and I feel that she is too " old " looking ,I would rather have had her brighter, to bring her whimsy out? But there is something about her that says " unique ", I actually thought of just keeping her but I might put her up on SpookyTimeJingles.for the November offering.
I had to show everyone my sweetie pie granddaughter Kinsley, who is about to celebrate her first halloween and of course that means a visit to the pumpkin patch, and as all fashionable young babies do, she had to get just the right outfit for this special occasion! Isn't Kinsley the most adorable little Punkin'? My dd Chencha is having a ball with her, she's her own very special real life doll!!!! BTW Kinsley's dad, Brian is one of the best dads anyone could ever ask for.
Ain't life grand?

I made this snowman ornie a while back, and I thought I'd show him off, he's a sweet little guy. He's a multimedia air dry clay sculpt, acrylic painted then antiqued with a wax paste. Embellished with fabric ribbons, a few bits of star shaped glitter was applied to his eye then sealed with glossy varnish to make them sparkle and shine and of course a decorative hook. here are some befores:
