How to make ...

Have some handy wire and pliers, cut then twist the wire ends together, form into the desired shape.

Wrap wire with masking tape

Roll out air dry clay to desired thickness, using the prepared wire shape, cut around it "cookie cutter" fashion, then apply clay, smooth and seal all edges with a damp finger and favorite clay tool, cut an extra piece of clay into a small rectangular
shape, using a pen top "poke" a hole into it about a 1/4 of the way down from the top of the piece then using a sharp knife cut downward on this hole to form the bottom half of the keyhole and dampen the underside and place on the lower 1/2
of the pad and allow to dry.

Using dark umber, black, autumn brown, silver and gold acrylics, paint the clay
by dabbing colors on in a painterly fashion. Then for texture add ground cinnamon
over sections of the wet paint, and Voila!!! there it is!!!...hehehe!!

What do you see?

When you look at this ornamental gourd, besides the beauty?

I guess it depends on how warped you are?..hehehe!.. seriously though, I love warty/bumpy gourds! I see an oddly shaped one and how it could lend it's self to so many possiblities then add clay and wow, quite a combination. So what do you see?
I saw this...

And it was no picnic to get him to look like this!!!

But he is worth every bit of trouble he is putting me through...

No more hiding...

Sweet Bunnie O'Hare

There was something quite peculiar about
that Bunnie O'Hare,
That would always make people
stop and stare!
She was an only child, a sweet
lonely child...
Not easily beguiled!
None the less, one must confess
she was always impeccably dressed!
by Flora Thompson

Well I got her done but it looks like she will be an only child, Always an excuse as to why I can't get more done, but "the universe is conspiring against me !!!!".... well at least nature is. My son has the flu ..again..my pregnant dd needs a babysitter ... again, mom was in the hospital and I should have known better than to commit to a couple of swaps????...What was I thinking!!!! Here are some befores.

In " My " perfect world I'd have a lot more time to create or at least know how to manage my time better ....

Miracles...

My mom in healthier times
I recieved a phone call from my one of sisters this morning, in an anxious voice she said , " mom is being life-flighted to Methodist Hospital, she just had another stroke " I felt strangely calm, but always at the back of my mind I wonder if this is the one that would take her. Mom has been through several small strokes since a major one in 98 and each time they take a bit of her with them, yet she survives.
Life was not always good to her but she made the most of it, a testament to her strong will to survive.
I really didn't know what to expect as my husband, son and me, made our way thru the maze of hospital corridors that finally lead us to her room. I opened the door and peered in, although tired and frail looking ,she smiled at me with recognition and called out my name....
It wasn't too long afterwards that all but one of my siblings and relatives had made their way to her room, whatever fears we might have had were put to rest and we knew we were blessed at least for a little while longer, all thankful that our lord had once more shown us his tender mercies, Thank you lord for this miracle.

Blessings,Flora
