Ms.Bow, as in Clara??? Well it's my interpretation anyway...
(Just a note to let everyone know that I apologize about All the previous wonderful comments from all my dear friends that were lost by blogger, about 3 days ago, I was able to repost this but unable to add the lovely comments back...SIGH!)
It was a very daunting task indeed and I do give props to those who do this kinda work, cause I took so long ,almost gave up a few times and too many things just looking not quite right and I still see some mistakes but not too bad for my first try if I do say so myself and this shot makes her nose look much longer than it actually is ( gotta learn how to do angle shots better, another "to do" on my already too long list )... Now to get the other stumbling block out of the way too...I'm not so good with commissions!!!
More to come, SEE YA!!!!

She is AWESOME!!!!!!! I love her. She is the essence of Clara Bow, and of the 1920's. Everything about her is perfect. Can't believe this is your first work of this type! Looks to me like you've been doing it all your life. Just wonderful!
Oh my Robin!!! Thank you so very much for the very kind comments, but thank you mostly for taking the time to visit with me!!!

Wow! She really does look cool. And your pictures are fine. They don't make her look bad at all. Very good work, especially for your first time. God bless.

I love it. I think she looks very much a flapper. I know what you mean about commisions. As soon as someone askes me to make a bunch of something I lock down. I fight it every step of the way. Sigh.
Hello and Welcome B.R.!!!Thanks so much for the sweet comment, you hit it right on the money about the commissions, although I must admit I did this one really fast ,the problem came in when the base started to shrink!!!! I don't know what happened but each time I would have to keep adding more clay
So I basically had to start all over!!! That's when I hit the "lockdown" mode...!!!UGH!!!
Thank goodness the collector was soooo patient.!!!
Blessings,Flora
How are you, Flora? Just recently returned from visit with daughter and grands in east TX. Hotter n Hell is a bike race in my home town north of Dallas, and that is just what it was. Upon return, I was greeted by Uncle Sam and his Dem and Rep pull toys (he's our 4th of July centerpiece - stays out all summer actually). Of course, you came to mind, so I came to your Blog to smile and laugh at your whimsical creations (you make the greatest faces on your whimsies. Then I lost my breath in a gasp of amazement, my smile became more one of incredulous wonder, as I gaped in admiration.
This is such a marvelous sculpt! The cheekbones, that exquisite rouged mouth with a perfect frenulum hollow bowing the upper lip into rose bud musing, and those expressive thoughtful eyes. I love the 1920's flapper quality. IF there are flaws, my friend, beauty is not perfection I collect hats from the 30's & 40's. Would love such display, but alas you're vowing off. A pity and a sorrow - beautiful things are a delight in this world.
Although, I have mixed emotions about being referred to as a stumbling block, I do hope that Red and I are the block of which you speak, because seeing this fantastic bust and remembering your Alice doll I am all aquiver with anticipation...
Patience is a virtue of which I have been tested and found virtuous...If one virtue constitutes virtuous that is.
I visit your site often, but resist commenting too often (don't want you to feel it's a nudger), but it would have been a sin to keep silent with this bust. Cudos and applause, dear Flora; your talent shines forth in all that you do.
Stay cool, my Texas compadre!
Dana
Hello my dear!!!!I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad tohear from you again!!! It's been such a long time!!! Wish I could have met you when you visited maybe another time? I am working on Red's feet, and I'm thinking she's got big feet, Ha!Sorry about the block thingie, I'm sure it wasn't her but my fear of her being not what she should be? Thanks for all the wonderful comments and for your visit, I sure missed you lots!!!

And next time we're in TX I'll let you know, alas Houston is a bit of a ways from Mount Vernon - there's a whole lotta Tejas...but to meet you would be a true treat, I already know your spirit, so much of it lounges about my house within your creations...
