Articulated hands....
They are one of my favorite part of dollmaking and the most frustrating too!!! Somehow a doll just isn't done unless I can "feel" movement coming from the hands and fingers once they are posed. Even though it is difficult to get them just so, I will keep working on them till my hands are sore, I actually went to bed with numb fingertips the other night! But my dolls fingers do look nice, don't you think?
The Humble Arts will be showing new creations on the 1st of July and my new doll "Sweet Lady Liberty" will be ready in her best "Sunday go to meeting" dress and high heeled shoes! So don't forget to go take a gander at us, just click on the link and you be able to see my Libby and every one else's new offerings! I'll make it real easy for you, click here -> The Humble ArtsDon't be late, I'll keep the light on for ya...hehehe!!!

Sleeping beauty
These pictures are just too adorable not to show, A kiss from handsome prince Tristan to Kinsley the Sleeping beauty!!!
I love how beautiful Kinsley looks with her new headband while handsome cousin Avery looks on.
My daughter and new grandie are home at last, after a bit of a scare, safe and sound, with many doting family members, oooing and awwwing at all the little faces sweet Kinsley makes while she sleeps! Big cousins Avery and Tristan wonder what the fuss is all about and just don't understand why they can't touch that little bundle in pink, no matter, they're too busy exploring other things! But with three new teeth between the two of them, we need to keep an extra watchful eye on them and keep them away from the family pet poodle, Berkley...if they can catch him, which won't be too long, poor Berkley.

Pretty in Pink
...my first granddaughter will be making her entrance on June 17th around 1:30pm. We all anxiously await the arrival of her highness "Kinsley Alden Burkhardt" but she is in no hurry to come out so a c-section it is!!! My daughter Chencha and son-in-law Brian have waited almost eight long years for her, so just a little bit more and we will finally be meeting my little grandie! In the mean time " Kinsley " is taking her sweet little time while we imagine what she will look like all Pretty in Pink!

new idea
Here she is!!!!...I told ya, the design is better suited for a male doll but I'm gonna do her up anyway! She has a certain "in your face quality!" I also just finished cutting her out, as you can see. I had a heck of a time getting the mirror image down and had the same problem with Sam, but it's all the little quirks/mistakes that make the dolls have " character" dontcha think? I better get moving while she's still a new idea or I'll get discouraged and or overwhelmed with her!
Blessings,
Goodies!
Look at what I found at Joann's Fabrics yesterday afternoon, I must have gotten there just in time for one of their sales because everything at the scrapbooking area was on sale, most of it was priced at 97 cents, I was going crazy, had my basket filled with goodies then common sense prevailed and I put everything back, well almost, I had to keep these needfuls! The Fiskars edgers are normally 14.99 and I got it for $3.97!!!, two of the circle die cut papers and one of the square, there are 600 pieces in each, normally 4.99 per, snagged them for 97 cents each!....Now what to do with them....hmmm? Well I'm sure I can come up with something to use these " goodies " on!

Home at last!
I recieved a lovely note yesterday about my Sam, he made it safe and sound to his destination and seems to be getting a bit of attention from his new owners. I hope he doesn't get a big head from all the attention ..like it wasn't big enough already?
But suffice is to say that he is with a wonderful family who appreciates him, big head and all, Thank you Dana and Martin.
I just finished sketching a new doll design a few minutes ago, along the lines of Sam but female, somehow the design is better suited for a male? I'll have to get my son to scan the image and post it tomorrow.
I wonder if it will get easier selling my dolls and sending them off, it always feels like I'm missing something once they're gone? I know I know hahaha!! I'm a "little " flakey ...bye bye Sam, good to know that you're home at last!
Blessings,Flora

100th post drawing
Hello, can y'all believe it, I will be blogging my 100th post in just a few more days!!!!Truly unbelieveable huh?..hehehe... I've been busy making some needful trinkets for a couple of days, I hope y'all like them.
My sweet and talented friend Annette of "Huckleberry Arts" has made a delightfully gorgeous banner just for it! She is the one that did my blog banner too,
which is also fabulous!, but if you need a banner, she's the one to go to!
So here's what I'm gonna do, I have three groupings of items and the first two names I draw will have a choice, accordingly,
of which grouping they would like. So if all goes well it should be fun, so here are the gifts, oh and if you click on the pic's you can see it all glitter so much better!!!The first grouping has my logo beautifully embellished on a wand, full of glittered crepe paper ruffles, ribbons with tails and bells!
Two goody filled cellophane bags, the larger has my handmade and wrapped fake "candy" all in halloween colors with tiny plastic ghosts, bats and spiders, tied up with coordinating ribbons and a sweet little tag.
The smaller one has more tiny plastic characters plus, candy corn, cats and a golden moon disc with a witch silhouette, tied up with a tiny "silly" tag and ribbons.
3 handmade tags, on 2 I've used copied vintage halloween sheet music then stamped both with Halloween themes and ribbons, the third is also from a vintage print of a lovely lady. All 3 have a bit of glitter on the designs and made from cardstock and scrapbooking papers trimmed with more Halloween ribbon.
Finally two vinatge mini pumpkins, which I have applied sparkly glitter to, the are finished off with one single fabric leaf.
Next we have tussie #1, which is made of a plaid printed paper over a heavier material, trimmed with Halloween paper fringe at the top and bottom then embellished with all sorts of goodies, some handmade like the glittered tags with initial and some not ,like the ribbons, metal pumpkin charms and bell hanging from it at the bottom. 2 decorative hangers were used on either side of the tussie for it's ribbon handle.
1 glittered pumpkin, 2 of the embellished handmade tags but different designs and sizes, and 1 small cellophane bag of the "wrapped candy" with tiny plastic characters, all tied up with coordinating ribbons and sweet little glittered hangtags.
Last but not least is the second tussie, which has exactly the same goodies as the first. The only small differences is in the pattern and colors of the papers I chose to make it from, this one is made in a dotted design and the color of the trick or treat sign on the face tag is purple. All Halloweenie and ready to put up, but you have to sign up for it!
Good luck all!

So I will be taking more soon and get him ready to go to a new home ..hopefully. Let me know if you are interested in him and click my link under my pic on top right.Just a few more shots of him;

Parting is such sweet sorrow?
Okay that's it for my knowledge of shakespeare ( not really ) but it seemed appropriate since I have to say goodbye to both my Uncle Sam and my Changeling. Thank you so very much Tina and Dana!!!!!! I know they are headed to wonderful new homes, both women seemed so genuinely thrilled to be able to own my creations. Now off to try and get another one up. BTW have y'all been over to The Humble Arts yet? There are still some wonderful lovelies there, but I don't know how long they will last......so whatcha
waiting for?...get a move on !!!!
