Ever have one of those days?...

The hurrier you go the behinder you get? Well...that's what my whole month has been like!!!! My sweet grandies just celebrated a milestone in their tiny lives, they had their first Birthday,Sat. It was so funny to see their little mugs all covered with cake and riding a choo-choo train around the neighborhood!!! But I doubt they will remember...good thing for cameras!!!! So I barely had enough time to do my sculpts let alone come check my blog or mail! But I did have priorities! I was actually thinking that I might not finish my sculpts in time for tomorrows SpookyTimeJingles offerings!! Thank goodness I got them done, but only two items this time, I just finished about 30 minutes ago!!!!!Here's one of the little guy's Punkin Pete & Joe

Sue of Rabbit Hollow Prims, just caught me and i'm tagged!!! Looks like I have to tell 6 secrets..like I haven't already told everything about myself? As my Australian friends say downunder I am a " gasbagger", sounds a bit rude huh? Well here goes.
1)I LOVE, LOVE AlmondJoy candy bars...YUM,nothing like satisfying a candy craving!!
2)I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE Chinese Buffets...hence my girly figure...hehehe!!!
3)I HATE HATE HATE math!!!! I cannot retain anything relating to it...complete blank!!!

5)I cannot drive a stickshift...I tried and ruined my only car!!!

I am in awe....

Of this fabulous doll artist at Sue McMahon Dolls Susie makes the most amazing dolls! I had the priviledge to " meet " her on the Vintage Clothdollmaking a yahoo group that I'm in,I have to tell ya, there are many dollmakers who's dolls are beautiful, but Susie's dolls are breathtaking! If you have a chance, you really owe it to yourself to go take a looksee,I guarantee that you will not be disappointed, tell her I sent you...hehehe.

One wild and crazy night...

or one night with Ike. Whatever you want to call it , it's a night I don't care to repeat. We were some of the few who decided to "hunker down and stay put" fortunately we survived and are very thankful to my lord for sparing us from major damage, but no matter how much you prepare you always have a creeping realization that maybe this wasn't such a good idea?
That realization became abundantly clear at about 2:00 when the wind began to roar and the rain pounded on our home, Ike made his presence known. While my husband and son slept soundly, I tossed and turned, finally falling into a restless asleep in the wee hours of the morning....then our cell phones started ringing.
My parents and sisters and their families,who live in Freeport and were some of the first evacuees, decided to stop and stay for the night as they checked to see if it was ok to go home, giving my elderly parents some much needed rest and a bit of comfort food which always includes tortillas!!!
We all had tales to tell as we sat down for our meal, with much laughter and noise...all was right with the world once again...Please keep those not as fortunate as us in our prayers.

And a Halloween figure/doll sculpt I did a bit ago, for a group I was in, till recently. Anywho,the subject matter about her is a bit dark, she is a sad and rather forlorn looking creature, you see she was engaged to a seaman, who's first love was the sea. They were to be married as soon as he came back, on the day that was to be their wedding day, but alas he never returned and that night in her despair and anguish she decided to be with him.... in his beloved sea....the locals say that they can at times hear her pitiful cries in the cold black night and some say they've even seen her wandering about the shore always searching...

New project....and something else

Ok it's a doll...but still it's a new undertaking so...potato, po tah toe, anywho,

Halloween hooligans and Christmas confections doll/ornaments,all can be found at Spookytime Jingles I guess everyone has figured out that it's almost time for the August offerrings to begin for STJ. Which is on the 13th of each month. And this little cutie is one of my newest designs, I have one more " Trinket Box " and 3 more offerrings. I'm back.........

My short but exhausting mini vacation is over, my husband and son thought it would be great fun to go diamond hunting in this hotter than hell " Crater Diamond " place in Arkansas...not!!!!!!!!
Ok maybe a little fun, but only a little, minus the skeeter bites and the sunburn and sweat, I did find some lovely quartz crystals, pyrite and geodes but alas no diamonds!
We stopped along the way and got to visit some great antique shops, needless to say I came home with lots of goodies!
We also got to be in Canton for the "first monday auction" and I filled up on lots of wonderful " gotta haves!" So I guess it wasn't so bad afterall!
Now, what to do with all my new " old stuff "........?
And the fun never stops, now we find out that we are getting a visit from tropical storm " Eduard ",the last tropical storm that came for a "visit" was " Allison " in 2005 I think, and my whole subdivision was in about 3-4 feet of water, it literally looked like a lake! The days that followed were no better, as we began to clean up and remove our irreplaceable possessions, all damaged beyond repair. I thank the good lord that none of us were hurt, but it definitely tested my faith at the time!
I do have some good news to tell y'all, my sweet friend Sandra of "Babycakes Designs" nominated me for an award at " Whymzees Art and Friends " and although I didn't make the honor roll I did get an honorable mention!!!!! YAY !!!!! THANK YOU SANDRA!!!!! Scroll down and look to the right of the blog and there it is, they said some lovely things, so if you have time go take a peek!
Well the rain is starting to get nasty outside and I can hear the thunder so that's my cue to get off the computer...Bye!

It's beginning to feel.....

A lot like Christmas....
I've got Christmas sculpts of doll/ornaments popping out everywhere, but only this one is finished! The picture shows what I needed to get fixed, so now the snowball's hat is shorter and snowman's collar is also shorter. I'm about to leave for a much needed mini vacation but had to get this little guy on. He is one of my August offerings for Spookytime Jingles,
and is a hanging ornament, made out of airdry clay and generous amounts of german glass glitter, and as always all handmade from my own designs. I was a bit scared that I would cut myself and bleed allover the darn thing, but I didn't and I love how it sparkles so prettily, let me know what you think!... TTYL
